2020 has been an unpredictable year of change, of hope of dreams of political shape shifting. The landscape of time has veered into a different direction. Covid-19 has changed the way we live life possibly for the next decade or more.
People who were furloughed in March had time to think, reflect on life, worry, change careers, stay in jobs or face redundancy if not sacked. Many have fallen between the cracks and we are journeying through a time of transition that will affect us forever. George Floyd’s death and Black Lives Movement has shaken me to the core, not that other movements didn’t but other movements didn’t bring this overwhelming feeling in my soul that now is the time for change. Institutions are having conversations, acknowledgements from involvement with the slave trade are beginning to appear, and statements are being made.
I’ve thought about the existential question of “who am I?”. And it doesn’t matter who I am anymore but what I do and how I do it. We’re all here to bring about changes to the world, to make it a better place for all of us.
If I can show up every day and try to be the best version of myself then I know in doing that I can help you be the best version of yourself.
There’s always more to learn, let’s do it together.
